I remember when I first thought about doing a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) . Just deciding to go was huge! Then came the challenge of picking the right one—there are so many DTS programs around the world. Which DTS should I do? Which DTS is the best?
One thing I’ve learned is there’s no “perfect” place. Wherever you choose, God will meet you there, and He’s ready to work deeply in your life, bringing healing and freedom.
So instead of asking, “Which DTS should I do?” or “What’s the best DTS?” or “What’s the cheapest DTS?” (I wonder if we are!?) Try saying, “Here I am, Lord, I’m ready!” It’s about jumping into the adventure of a lifetime and diving deep with God. Honestly, when else do we get five whole months to focus on knowing Him? Make the most of it! Take a chance with God and go for it.

God’s moving in powerful ways in Malaysia, and it’s incredible to be part of what He’s doing. We see Him at work in communities, the city, and across the nation. Malaysia’s also super English-friendly! If I ever get lost, people are so friendly and always willing to help. I feel safe, and people look out for each other—once, I even dropped cash on the street, and someone ran after me to return it! That’s not something you see everywhere.
It’s also more affordable here than in other places. I wanted to do a DTS and not be limited by finances. YWAM Experience Asia in Malaysia has an affordable YWAM DTS and it has a thriving Gen Z community. So I’ve made friends and just had a lot of fun. This has been a place of crazy growth for me. I had a lot of brokenness in my life and it didn’t instantly disappear, it’s been a process, but God is healing.
