YWAM Malaysia

YWAM Best baseThis week our YWAM Malaysia family came together — DTS teams, DBS students, ministry teams, and long-term staff from all across the nation. So many different callings, personalities, and backgrounds in one place, yet all carrying the same heart for Jesus. We had a great time at the gathering and are reminded that in diversity, we find unity. Each individual’s unique story contributes to the collective mission of YWAM Malaysia. From the DTS students to the seasoned veterans, everyone plays a role in this vibrant tapestry of faith and service.

One of the highlights was definitely being on the beach. I loved playing in the waves — some people launched each other so high they flew, and others of us brushed sand off after running around during our beach games. We laughed and will remember racing through the sand and creating memories and strengthening the unity. Who knew a bit of sand and seawater could do that!

We had beautiful worship times together, and in between, we wandered around meeting new people, chatting, praying for one another, and playing games. There was a great sense of family and unity. We also took the opportunity to reflect on where we are going and share stories of impact and transformation that have occurred through our various outreach initiatives. We had deep connection and good food.

YWAM Malaysia: A Journey of Faith and Service

During worship, we walked around praying for many different groups. Different worship teams played through these days and had different sets with songs. We committed to carrying forward what God wants to do and to keep seeing God glorified.

Throughout the gathering, we mixed across teams, shared stories, and encouraged each other. We took time to listen to the Lord and document what He’s saying over our ministries and over Malaysia. Later, we looked back through it. I love seeing how God speaks and that we can all hear God’s voice together. We are all eager to keep moving forward and to continue impacting our communities.

Being together — DTS, DBS, and all the different ministry expressions — reminded us that we’re one family, one mission, one movement. We’re heading home with full hearts, fresh vision, and renewed excitement for what God is stirring in this nation. The experience solidified our commitment to working collaboratively and fostering an environment of support and encouragement. As we prepare to return to our respective ministries, we carry with us a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer understanding of how to support one another in our common goals.

Malaysia, God is writing a beautiful story… and we’re honoured to play a part in it. Each of us leaves this gathering inspired to contribute to that story in unique ways. Whether through prayer, service, or evangelism, we recognise that our actions can shape the future of YWAM Malaysia and the communities we serve. Our experiences here remind us that we are not just participants in a mission; we are co-authors of a divine narrative that transforms lives and communities.

The legacy of YWAM Malaysia is one of resilience. We’ve seen how God has touched lives, whether through outreach efforts, providing education in underprivileged communities, giving food out, trainingand more. We love the story that God is writing; what a privilege to serve in this time.
